The Portrait Session

We bring our mobile portrait studio to you! Your photographer will coach you through posing for a confident look and use flattering lighting effects. You will be able to review your photos in-camera during the session to select your favorites.

Professional Retouching

Our professional editors deploy their talents on your images to reduce shine, correct skin tone, remove blemishes, reduce glare on eyewear, whiten teeth, and more to create a flattering and natural look. We then provide you with your final downloadable file link(s).
Airbrushing also available.

Delivery

Final retouched files formatted for both print and web are provided via email 48 - 72 hours following your session. Please note, larger groups may take longer. Your photographer will confirm your delivery expectation at the time of your appointment.

Professional make-up for girls and women is optional. If you would like referrals to local make-up artists, send us an email or give us a call. We recommend wearing your hair as you normally do, or something you can replicate on your own. Be yourself!

Yes! We are a full service, professional mobile studio equipped with lightning, backdrops, props and of course talented and friendly photographers! We offer on-location, as well as environmental headshot photography packages designed to meet the needs for any size business. Whether you are looking for an individual, single-image mini session or are looking to update staff photos for an enterprise wide website, Blue Boat Photography has the talent, knowledge and equipment to help!

Yourself and any team members who will be participating! We recommend bringing anything you might like to include in your headshot to express your professionalism or industry.

How soon is delivery? Your online gallery will be ready in as little as two days from the date of your session, depending on the package purchased. Same-day delivery is also available.

Yes – we offer a variety of package solutions, in addition to add on options. So even if you decide to go with our budget-friendly single-image mini session, additional images from your session can be added on for a set fee at a later date. Any add-on photos will also include professional editing and will be delivered in hi-res and lo-res versions.

Enterprise and Corporate Headshot Session FAQs

Headshots typically take about ten to fifteen minutes per person, per look. However, this could vary depending on the package type chosen.
Each look captures between 10-50 photos per person, depending on the package type. See our pricing packages for more info and specifics.

Hundreds! We can shoot anywhere from 1-1,000,000. Our Full House package offers group pricing with as few as 10 people. Our scheduling team will work with your company to plan out the session day(s) in order to accommodate all the employees needing photos.

Our team can provide you with any color or textured background. If we don’t have it or can’t get it, we will add it during the retouch phase. Note: It is typical for the event coordinator or lead contact at your company to select the style of the photos in advance. This often locks in a background color(s) for the session.

We create a stress free, fun environment. Depending on the arrangement, we will either shoot inside your office with our mobile headshot studio, around your office for environmental shots, or at an outdoor location of your choice. Based on the size of the group, we will provide a schedule and specified call-time by individual prior to the event, ensuring an efficient and hassle-free session.

Whether at your office or an outdoor location, your team will be able to view their photos in real time, ensuring everyone walks away happy with their photos. For shoots inside an office, our team will need a 10′ x 10′ area for the mobile studio set up.

All color corrected photos are delivered for proofing via an online viewing gallery. Each photo is delivered in two sizes: low res for online use and high res for printing. All photos are delivered in JPEG format; raw files are not delivered to client.
Yes. Every photo is re-framed and color corrected prior to delivery.
Our Like A Boss and Full House Packages include basic portrait retouching. High-end retouching (Skin Softening, Hair Retouching, Make Up Creation, Face Swaps, and more) available on a photo by photo basis at an additional cost.

    Professional Corporate Headshot Session Photo Prep

    General Tips

    • Tell us your expectations and intentions. Let us know what kind of look you want.
    • Tell us how and where the photo will be used (so we can be sure it’s appropriate).
    • Drink lots of water and be well rested.
     

    What to Wear – Everyone

    • Wear clothes that are comfortable and that make you look (and feel) great.
    • Make sure your jacket and shirt fit you well. A poor fitting jacket or shirt will be
      obvious in the photos (especially around the neck).
    • Don’t overdress!
    • Turtlenecks are almost always a bad idea (since they crowd the face).
    • Clothes should be neatly pressed and should look new or like new.
    • Avoid busy patterns and large lines/stripes.
    • Blue/green/turquoise shirts/blouses or accents can help emphasize blue/green/hazel
      eyes.
     

    What to Wear – Men

    • The standard business look is a suit jacket, dress shirt, and tie.
    • A casual business look is often a jacket and open dress shirt; shirt and tie (no jacket);
      or just a dress shirt.
    • Polo shirts are a good look for some businesses. Be sure the shirt is in good condition
      and fits well.
    • For a no-jacket casual look, bring colored shirts – ideally darker than your skin tone.
    • A white dress shirt by itself is a bad idea – unless you plan to wear it underneath
      something (jacket or sweater).
    • Bring a few different jackets, shirt colors, and ties so we have choices for the photo.
     

    What to Wear – Women

    • Avoid big prints and busy patterns.
    • Different necklines will change the apparent shape of your face. Bring a variety
      different shirts/blouses to see what works best.
    • For a no-jacket casual look, bring various colored blouses – ideally darker than your
      skin tone.
    • Be stylish and fashionable, but remember the picture is about your face and not your
      clothes or jewelry.
    • Sleeveless tops/dresses can draw attention to your shoulders/arms. Consider
      bringing items with a variety of different sleeves.
    • Remember: select and wear clothes that make you feel comfortable.

    Jewelry

    • Keep jewelry extremely simple – small is better.
    • Avoid jewelry that would distract from your face or that looks dated.
    • The picture is about your face, not your jewelry.
    • Consider if facial piercings or multiple ear piercings are appropriate for where your photo will be displayed.

    Hair & Make-Up Tips

    • Make-up should be clean and natural.
    • Gently exfoliate your skin before coming.
    • Wear a heavy layer of translucent powder – your face will appear flawless in photos:
      shine disappears, pores seem smaller, skin looks even, and blush is smoother.
    • Line lips before applying matte lipstick, then reline. Don’t overdo it. Dip a cotton bud
      in powder and run along lip line to prevent color from bleeding.
    • Avoid shimmers or products with lots of sparkle or shine.
    • Avoid frosts or overly-bright colors.
    • Don’t get a new hair cut just before the shoot (you may want to let it grow-in a bit or
      get used to styling a new cut).
    • Do not try/use any new product on your hair, face or body the day before or few
      days before your shoot in case you have a bad reaction to the product.
    • Don’t shave directly before your shoot; this can irritate your skin.
    • Don’t wear more make-up than you would when going to a job interview.

    What To Bring

    • Your previous headshots, if applicable (so we can improve).
    • Sample headshots to help communicate the look you want.
    • Favorite music (iPod/MP3 player, phone, thumb-drive).
    • Various changes of clothing (see above).
    • A good attitude!
    • Lip balm.
    • Hair brush/comb.
    • Makeup and hair products you prefer (especially if you have allergies).
     

    Last Thoughts

    • Please Arrive With hair styled and makeup already applied.
    • Get plenty of rest the night before and use Chapstick to moisturize your lips overnight.
    • Cut out alcohol 24 hrs before your shoot and compensate with extra water!
    • Don’t criticize yourself – you are wonderful and unique.
    • Have fun! It shows in the photos!
